UMW Toyota welcomes 2017 with new appointments

Ravindran Kurusamy takes over the president's helm from Datuk Ismet Suki, who leaves after a 26 year tenure

After 26 years of association with the company, Datuk Ismet Suki will be vacating the president’s post at UMW Toyota Motor and will be replaced by Ravindran Kurusamy effective January 2017.

Prior to the appointment as president, Ravindran held the post of Executive Director in charge of Aftersales, Purchasing, Quality Assurance and Property.

“Mr. Ravindran has been with the company for 26 years and in that time, he has taken on positions in different divisions. This has given him valuable insights into the company’s operations as well as its relationship with our joint-venture partner, Toyota Motor Corporation. I’m therefore confident that he has the knowledge and capabilities to lead UMW Toyota Motor ahead in coming years,” said Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Group Chairman of UMW Holdings Berhad and Chairman of UMW Toyota Motor.

“It is my objective to maximize Toyota’s overall performance in the Malaysian market and ensure that the brand remains a major player in the country’s automotive sector,” enthused Ravindran, adding that he aims to take the company further and to continue the momentum of growth even though times are challenging for the automotive industry.
