Renault all set to rock the Urban Crossover market!

Renault launches a campaign that drops RM8000 off the standard price of their sexy little Captur.

The urban crossover market is only just picking up as a stylish practical alternative to a mainstream saloon car. Car makers are listening to what buyers want and are perfecting their models to stand out amongst the competitors.

The Captur goes up against the Honda HRV, Mazda CX-3 and Ford EcoSport. With a standard price of RM117,200 (not inclusive of insurance), it is definitely well priced.
The Captur is a lifestyle car, so the interior and styling matters. Step into the Captur and it's like stepping into a Clio as they share the same basic layout. Renault keeps things modern and alive inside for its young-at-heart owners.

Infotainment is taken care of by a Media NAV unit that has GPS, Bluetooth connectivity and a place for your USB. There's a general fancy theme going on with the Captur. The Leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob is complemented with two tone seats and a chrome rimmed instrument cluster.

A digital speedometer sits in the middle while the revs and fuel gauge take place either side. The overall look is topped off with a set of 17" black diamond finish alloy wheels. What key? With the Renault all you get is a little card that you keep on you to use the car. Renault don't encouraged their buyers to have an accident but if they do, the Captur has a 5 Star Eurp NCAP rating.

A Key advantage the Captur has going for it, is that it packs lots of space for its occupants so don't judge for the compact looking exterior until you have a seat in it. Let's put it this way, you don't have to worry too much about any AirAsia style seating in the Captur. Booth space is luxurious at 377-litres which is only second to the HRV's 437-litres. If you really need the extra space, you can slide the rear bench forward or simply drop it down.

Renault brings the Captur in with a 116bhp/190Nm 1.2L turbo engine. That May sound a little disappointing but fret not, the 6 speed Dual Clutch gearbox makes the best of what's available. It's no rocket ship but has no trouble keeping you entertained on the highway and even if you're in the mood to take on someone at the traffic light. Renault claim the Captur will be able to do 5.4L/100km in its ECO Mode.

With the special campaign that Renault is holding, the Captur will now be yours at a grand price of RM109,200 on the road sans insurance. The Captur will also come to you complete with  free maintenance service for 3 years or 60,000km. Renault cars already come with 5 year full manufacturer's warranty, so you've got some peace of mind there. Mind you, this campaign is only valid until the 31st of October though. Time for a little French on the streets perhaps?
