Challenging 2016 for Perodua

No records broken in terms of sales but Perodua is ready to counter the drop

As of September 2016, a total of 150,900 Peroduas found owners allowing Perodua to lay claim to an estimated total industry volume market share of 36.1 per cent. Spearheading the numbers is the newly launched Perodua Bezza which makes up 20,000 units of that number.

With 20,000 units of Bezza registered since the 21st July launch, the Bezza is now the highest ever delivery within 90 days for a new model in Perodua history. This comes as no surprised, with all the awesome features on the Bezza, it is enough to convert even a hatchback Myvi lover into a happy compact sedan owner.

But other than the Bezza, Perodua is not doing the best in other segments. At 150,900 units, Perodua sold a good 6000 units less compared to last year’s 157,500 units sold between January to September. Sadly for Perodua, the third quarter year saw only 45,300 cars rolled out of the showroom and into homes marking a 7.5 per cent drop from last year’s 49,000 units.

In terms of production, the company’s factory in Rawang produced a total of 153,700 vehicles between January to September. That is nine per cent lower compared to 2015’s 168,300 vehicles that rolled out of the factory doors.

On the upside, Perodua’s 201 service centres have upped their pace in providing after sales service to 1.51million Peroduas on the road. It’s not a huge leap compared to 2015’s 1.45million intakes but this shows that Perodua still puts high importance on maintaining their customers’ cars.

The numbers don’t sit well with Perodua hence they have devised a number of promos to raise their sales. One of which is the “Test Drive and Win” contest where all you have to do is test drive one of their cars and you will be in the running to win a Perodua Bezza Advance spruced up with GearUp accessories along with a holiday trip to China.

Or if you’re looking to win other goodies like a Samsung television or a PS4, you can take part in the UFirst Anniversary Contest that Perodua is holding to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the UFirst Perodua Passport membership.

Perodua is also offering special savings for those looking to purchase a Myvi or an Alza. The Jom Beli campaign will see the Perodua Alza come complete with a RM2000 rebate while the Perodua Myvi will save you up to RM4200! Now that is a good deal.

Look out for the banners below for more contest details! Meanwhile, Perodua will work on shortening the waiting period for the Bezza as much as possible to cater to the large number of demands all over the nation.
