Nissan goes campaign crazy with more goodies

Nissan introduces their All-New Driving Recorder for the Nissan Almera and it costs just RM1!

It seems that Nissan have been paying attention to trending automotive topics. Mr. Tan Keng Meng, Director of Marketing and Product Planning said that the people at ETCM have noticed many drivers out there are buying video recorders for their cars to record incidents while driving.

The point of this is to capture footage of accidents or incidents thus tipping the balance to your side should you meet in an accident. Nissan saves you the hassle of going out and getting a video recorder by providing one themselves.

Nissan's All-New Driving Recorder (DVR) does its job rather well. It isn't the best product you can get but neither is it flawed. The six-layer coated filter lens has a 150 degree angle view and records in high quality HD 1296 resolution. Like many of the products out there, it comes with low light image sensors so that it still does its job when the sun goes down.

Worry not about the device blocking your view from the windscreen as it hides subtly behind the rear view mirror. You don't have to bother yourself with the hassle of turning it on and off either. The DVR automatically starts recording on start up and, thanks to gravity sensors, will start recording in the event of a collision, sharp change in direction or emergency braking. Hence eliminating the argument of who came into whose lane.

The DVR can also be hooked up to your smartphone to access more functions like configurations and even streaming the video feed. Apple users, don't worry, the app is iOS friendly.

Edaran Tan Chong Motor has been going all out with campaigns this year to sell their cars. The RM1 promotion runs alongside Nissan's year-end campaign that offers rebates and attractive financing plans.

The Almera seems to be the targeted model since Nissan is offering the NISMO Aerokit or the 6.5inch Multimedia system for the RM1. Better grab it while you can because those options aren't cheap.

Other Nissan models included in the RM1 promotion are the Teana, X-Trail and Navara. Each have a different package available for your RM1 but equally worth the extra buck.

That's not the only campaign either. ETCM has re-launched the Millionaire Drive campaign that gives Nissan customers a chance to win from 2,000,000 AirAsia BIG Points. These points allow the winners to enjoy free flights courtesy of AirAsia and ETCM's collaboration.

If you're looking for test drives, Nissan is holding Test Drive Carnivals at selected locations from the 14th to the 16th of October. Be sure to check them out.
