It’s time to test their after-sales personnel’s knowledge!

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia challenges their after sales staff against each other

The Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s bi-annual competition, the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Skills Competition, to encourage the after-sales personnel to continue learning and improving in line with the MB training philosophy is back. 2016 saw 378 participants signing up for the competition that filtered down to 30 finalists who went head to head in the Grand Final.

The Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Skills Competition kicked off with a series of qualifying rounds which tests the participant’s theory and practical knowledge. Participants had to compete in six categories that include: Qualified Maintenance Technician (QMT), Qualified System Technician (QST), Certified Diagnosis Technician (CDT), Qualified Parts Process Specialist (QPPS), Certified Service Advisor (CSA) and the Automotive Mechatronic category (AMT).

These six categories demonstrate the complete range of job profiles within the Mercedes-Benz Cars Certification Programme C-Service including the Automotive Mechatronic category. Only 30 will proceed to the Grand Final round that will further test the finalists’ knowledge with a spontaneous quiz to round off the competition.

All participants were evaluated by a team of Daimler AG-certified trainers and area-specific experts. Not only will they be evaluated based on their skills they will also be assessed by how they uphold Mercedes-Benz’s superior standard.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s President and CEO, Dr Claus Weidner explained that the competition was to give the after-sales personnel a positive platform that will promote healthy competition between each other while fostering self-development and life-long learning.

“At Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, we believe that our people are the bedrock of our long-term success. That is why we remain committed to ensuring their continuous development. We believe that developing them to be the best that they can be will ultimately result in delivering the best to our customers,” said Weidner.

Dr Weidner congratulated all participants on their commitment to excellence and the Mercedes-Benz brand. All 30 finalists were awarded a total of RM99,500.
