Mercedes-Benz adds E250 to the mix

As promised, here comes the middle child of the E-Class!

This is it, ladies and gentlemen, the E250 is now officially up on sale. Finally! We know many of you have been waiting for the more powerful middle child of the E-Class since its launch in June and now here it is, available for purchase at RM420,888 for the Avantgarde line and RM425,888 for the Exclusive Line.

Yes, the E250 is offered up in two lines of choice. The Avantgarde Line will come complete with a sports radiator grille with the tri-star as the centrepiece. You get two louvres in matt iridium silver with chrome inserts on the radiator trim and 19-inch five-spoke light-alloy wheels.

If you’re one for the more classic signature Mercedes-Benz looks, then go for the Exclusive Line with the upgraded front bumper with chrome trim elements and three louvres on the radiator grille.

The E250 gets Multibeam LED headlamps that will shine the way with 84 individually activated high-performance LEDs and have a precision controlled distribution of light. While bright, the headlamps will also make sure it doesn’t dazzle other road users at the same time.

COMAND Online will display itself on a 12.3-inch high resolution media display. The display features the new, intelligent graphic design of the Multifunction Telephony and can be controlled via the touch sensitive Touch Controls installed on the steering wheel. Drivers will get the help from the Parking Pilot function and the 360-degree camera which will broadcast footage on the Widescreen Cockpit in full HD.

In terms of engine, the E250 is powered by the same 2-litre mill found in the E200, but this engine produces more power at 211bhp at 5500rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1200-1400rpm. It’s mated to a 9G-TRONIC gearbox and rides on four-link front axles and five-link multi-link rear axle to give you that comfortable ride.

And so now, Mercedes-Benz’s E-Class range is halfway complete. Up next, the E300 with AMG Line, the sportiest of the group and the most powerful of them all!
