Maserati’s new Ghibli and Ghibli S are now available in Malaysia

Don’t be fooled by its unchanged looks as these new luxury sedans are more than just meets the eye

Only two months after its debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the all-new Maserati Ghibli and Ghibli S are now made available in Malaysia through the official importer and distributor for Maserati in Malaysia, NAZA Italia. The overall looks of this luxury sedan may be largely unchanged, but Maserati has added a number of new features to make their saloon the best in its class.

For instance, the central dashboard has been redesigned to fit the new high-resolution eight-inch screen which comes with multi touch technology. And since smartphones plays an integral role in our daily lives nowadays, the infotainment system is now compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring functions.

The Ghibli now also comes with a range of driver assistance to keep the occupants safe and assist the driver whenever necessary. The new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) comes with Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind Spot Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning with Advanced Brake Assist, and Automated Emergency Braking.

The comfort of the passengers is also a priority for Maserati and had led them to improve the noise insulation and reducing the cabin noise, as well as including the Air Quality Sensor as standard in all ranges.

If one would like their Ghibli to look and feel sportier or luxurious, whichever that suits their needs, Maserati now offers personalisation packages to create a focused environment for the driver and passengers. The Luxury package gives the cabin a refined touch thanks to the Zegna Edition Silk and Premium Leather upholstery.

But if sporty is what one is looking for, the sports seats and steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters will definitely reflect the racing heritage of the Trident. One could also further customise the Ghibli with two Carbon packages offered as an optional extra.

Both the Ghibli and Ghibli S will be powered by a Ferrari-built 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 350bhp. Paired to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, the Ghibli sprints from 0-100kph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 267kph. The S however does the job a bit quicker with a 0-100kph timing of 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 285kph, thanks to its 410bhp output.

The new Maserati Ghibli will come with a price tag of RM618,800, and RM708,800 for the more powerful Ghibli S. The price stated includes local duties and taxes, and they also come with a 3 years/60,000km service package.
