Designer Piet Boon reimagines the Range Rover

Malaysia sees the debut of the limited edition Piet Boon designed Range Rover.

Range Rover isn't new to taking a different path when it comes to designing their cars and certainly not with Piet Boon. The partnership with Studio Piet Boon that started in 2006 has resulted in many bespoke Land Rover models throughout the decade.

This time, Piet Boon designed the base Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged by taking inspiration from the legendary 1967 Shelby Super Snake Mustang. This particular Rover was exclusively designed for Selangor Properties Berhad (SPB) and was unveiled at the AIRA Residence marketing gallery. The only way to own one is by special order that allows you to customise it to your personal taste and by parting with RM1.29 million.

The British car maker is not the only one to benefit from Piet Boon's skills. The designer has multiple collaborations with a wide range of brands which include Bang & Olufsen and Miele. Not to mention the licensing agreements with home design companies. Piet Boon believes that a functional partnership is very important to continuously challenge the status quo and raise the bar of endless possibilities.

With such success and 30 years of experience under his belt, it comes as no surprise that Selangor Properties Berhad had employed his services for the designing of the AIRA Residence. Peit said, “Just like the Land Rover collaboration, my aim was to create designs and solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing and I am delighted to have achieved that and at the same time, retain the identity of Selangor Properties Berhad,”.

The AIRA Residence meets SPB's vision to be a coveted luxury living condominium with the combined efforts of Piet Boon, Franklin Po from Tierra Design and Alen Nikolovski from Aedes. The two latter designers taking over landscape architecture and architectural design respectively.
