Malaysia gets exclusive preview of the all new Kia Grand Carnival

Kia's eight seater MPV gets a makeover and has finally been previewed at the Mines International Exibition and Convention Centre (MIECC).

The Carnival you'll find at the MIECC will be the 2.2 CRDi diesel version. Putting out 190bhp and 440Nm of torque while mated to a torque converter six-speed automatic transmission. Styling have taken a step forward over the outgoing Carnival as it now has xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights at the front and also LED combination tail lights. The 19-inch chrome wheels pulls the Grand Carnival into a world where you don't have to be shy being seen driving an MPV.

Since the MPV is primarily built to ferry people around and on long journeys, Kia have bumped up on comfort inside the Carnival. Passenger and boot space has increased with more leg room between the rows compared to the model it replaces. Fear not, manoeuvring the behemoth is helped with front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. Among other gadgets are cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, push-button start and a triple zone climate control to ensure that even a full house of passengers travel in comfort.

Your shopping load and luggage would fit with ease in the massive 960-litre boot space and that's just with the third row seats up. If you really need to move things around, simply lower the last row seats and push the second row forward to create a 4022-litre van.

Safety wise passengers get six airbags, safety power windows and ISOFIX lock in child seats and the peace of mind knowing that the Grand Carnival has a 5-Star Crash Safety Rating from NHTSA.  Driver aids are abundant with stability control, traction system, brake assist, Hill-start Assist, EBD and ABS.

“The New Kia Grand Carnival has been a tremendous success worldwide for Kia, connecting on multiple levels with families, thriving professionals and active lifestyle consumers alike. We are confident it will achieve a similarly positive reaction in Malaysia,” said Dato’ Samson Anand George, Group Chief Operating Officer, Automotive Group, Naza Corporation Holdings.

The Grand Carnival will only be officially launching early next year but Kia is ready to take bookings so be quick to be the first few to own it!
