Isuzu’s catch of the day

The MU-X turns one-year-old in Malaysia and to celebrate the occasion Isuzu invited owners on a fishing expedition

Has it been a year since we were introduced to the Isuzu MU-X? Apparently it has, and to celebrate the occasion Isuzu invited a number of MU-X owners to Pulau Indah for a day long fishing trip as a unique way of thanking their customers who have purchased an MU-X of their own.

It’s called the Isuzu MU-X Fishing Fest where a number of 50 VIP guests, all proud owners of the Isuzu MU-Xs, were invited the salt-water ponds of Port Klang for a fun-filled family outing. The outing’s main purpose was to show off the Isuzu MU-X’s capabilities for the owners to experience the SUV’s multi-capable functionality when enjoying the great outdoors.

“The Isuzu MU-X is an all-terrain vehicle that allows you enjoy an active lifestyle without restrictions of space, comfort, safety or fuel economy.  As its tagline says, it is definitely ‘all set for more’. For the avid angler, it is the perfect vehicle to take off the beaten track for a spot of fishing,” says Executive Director of Isuzu Malaysia, Hajime Machimura.

So not only will the customers get to enjoy the flagship lifestyle that the MU-X stands for, it is also to make sure that they optimise the full use of their rugged SUVs by driving through the challenging terrain that leads to the location.

Coleman, the outdoor recreational specialist brand, also took the opportunity to show owners how to glamp with their SUVs by setting up four MU-Xs to showcase how camping can be comfortable and even luxurious.

At the Isuzu Fishing Fest, participants got to experience the fun of catching their own fish at the pond that contains roughly more than three tonnes of siakap (barramundi), jenahak (golden snapper) and kerapu (grouper). There is also a competition running through the day.

Isuzu had prepared two grand prizes to give away. The prizes comprise of camping sets worth RM3000 each from Coleman. The categories are separated into the heaviest fish caught and the most number of fish caught.

Muhammad Nazirul Fikri bin Samsudin took home the price for the heaviest fish caught. The 27-year-old originating from Sungai Buloh’s catch of the day was a Tiger Grouper weighing in at 4.6kg! The win for the most number of fish caught category was tied between Azley Tsia and Mohammad Azran who both caught three ikan bulans each and were declared joint winners.

There is no denying that the Isuzu MU-X has won a number of hearts since it was launched last year. There are quite a number of these versatile SUVs lurking the roads especially in the Klang area. If you want to join in the lifestyle that the MU-X stands for it’s time to head into the Isuzu showroom and put your name down on one now!
