Hyundai IONIQ tops the charts in recent studies

The figures are out and the all new Hyundai IONIQ reigns supreme in terms of high residual value forecasts

Things are looking good for the recently launched Hyundai IONIQ as the Hybrid and Electric versions of the vehicle have already started to rake in positive rankings when it comes to residual value (RV) forecasts. Both the variants came out top in a study by EurotaxGlass in countries such as Germany, Italy, France, Spain and the Netherlands while it’s also number 1 in a CAP study in the UK.

Let’s take a look at the figures of the Hybrid version of the IONIQ bearing in mind it trumped two other competitors in all the countries where the study was conducted. Firstly in Spain the IONIQ Hybrid recorded a 50 per cent RV, in the UK it had 49 per cent RV, while it recorded a 47 per cent RV respectively in France and the Netherlands. Over in the land which is home to the German Bundesliga, the vehicle recorded a 48 per cent RV and going down south to Italy the vehicle had a 41 per cent RV.

The IONIQ Electric variant is also a chart topper in the countries where the RV study was conducted as it recorded a Residual Value forecast of 47 per cent in Germany, 42 per cent in the Netherlands, 31% in France and 27 per cent in the UK. The IONIQ Electric variant was pitched against two other competitors in the study.

Hyundai attributes the high residual value figures of the IONIQ Electric version to factors including its low energy consumption, high quality, spacious interior, enhanced visibility and superior accelerations and deceleration as compared to competitors.

Meanwhile, both models also have a Hyundai Motor Five Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty which is combined with an 8-year and 200,000km warranty for the high-voltage battery while the IONIQ Hybrid’s driving dynamics ranked higher than those of diesel or hybrid competitors.

In the words of Hyundai Motor Europe’s CEO, Thomas Schmid “Our best-in-class warranty for the high-voltage battery takes away uncertainty, and provides peace of mind, supporting and setting our IONIQ clearly apart from competitors”.

The IONIQ Electric is a perfect alternative for fleets, with its practical driving range of 280 km on a single charge and its short charging times providing greater flexibility for drivers.”

The All-New Hyundai IONIQ is the first car in the world to offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric power trains in a single body type.
