The Honda WR-V loses its covers at the Sao Paolo Motor Show

Honda’s new SUV family member is scheduled to make its market debut in 2017

Looking for something else other than the CR-V or the HR-V? Worry not as Honda will soon be putting up a new crossover in their line-up known as the Winsome Runabout Vehicle or in short, the WR-V. The new compact SUV recently made its world premiere in a planned production form at the Sao Paolo International Motor Show 2016.

Combining a “tough and urban” SUV design with a spacious cabin and compact body size, the WR-V also comes with excellent fuel consumption and stable handling performance. These characteristics are all embedded into the WR-V to meet the various needs of their customers who indulge in active lifestyle in their daily lives.

There is also a reason why Honda chose Sao Paolo to be the place where the WR-V makes its world debut as the SUV was developed by Honda R&D Brazil, based on their research of customer needs in South America.

“Including the establishment of a new automobile R&D Centre in Brazil which became operational in 2013, Honda has been strengthening its product development to accommodate the needs of customers in this region. The WR-V is one of the major achievements resulting from such efforts,” said Issao Mizoguchi, President and Director of Honda Automoveis do Brazil Lida.

“Introduction of this all-new WR-V is a testament to Honda’s commitment to the South American market, and we will continue to deliver more products unique to Honda that please our customers,” said the President, Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd, Takahiro Hachigo.

The plans to sell the WR-V in South America is already in the pipeline and it is scheduled to make its market introduction in Brazil somewhere in the first half of 2017.
