Airbag inflators are now fully stocked

Driver’s side airbag inflator replacement supplies now fully stocked. Time to increase the replacement capacity!

Good news to all Honda owners who are waiting for airbag inflator replacements, Honda Malaysia is happy to report that the inflator shortage is now over and they are ready to make replacements at full capacity!

Due to the large amount of inflators needing replacement, Honda Malaysia was running low on stock but thankfully they did not have to stop the flow of replacements before supplies arrive.

The passenger front airbag inflators, on the other hand, is a different story. Due to the shortage of replacement inflators globally meant that Honda Malaysia was not able to fill up their storage. Don’t worry, Honda Malaysia promises to try their best to bring in the parts to ensure everybody gets their replacements.

As of 17 August 2016, Honda Malaysia is proud to say that they have completed 45 per cent of the replacements. That means that they’ve replaced 175,000 units of airbag inflators in affected vehicles in our country. The manufacturer continues to urge affected car owners to send their vehicles in for replacement as soon as possible.

It’s recommended to make an appointment with any Honda authorised dealer before heading over to the centre for the replacement. Either make a call to Honda’s Toll Free Number 1800-88-2020 or head to the website www.productrecall.honda.com.my.

Now that the storage rooms are filled once again with inflators Honda Malaysia hopes to see an increased capacity of replacement activities what with three service central hubs and 24 Mobile Hubs dedicated to the replacement activities.

Still not sure if your car is affected by the recall? Head to the link above to check it out. Honda has even made sure to add instructions on how to go about it and it will only take just five minutes of your time.
