Honda Malaysia introduces a little moving-stool in Isetan, KL

Honda lets you try the UNI-CUB β at Isetan KL, for a limited time only

Here is your chance to ride on the UNI-CUB β mobility device in conjunction with the opening of ISETAN The Japan Store in Lot 10 Shopping centre, KL.

The UNI-CUB β, which looks like a little stool with wheels, is a personal mobility device featuring the world’s first Omni-Directional Driving Wheel System, which actually consists of three wheels, two for forward and sideways movement and the rear, third wheel that moves laterally to turn the personal mobility device.

So, it is able to move forward, backwards and sideways whenever the rider leans into the intended direction, just as how one would walk. The UNI-CUB β also features Honda’s balance control technology that stems from Honda’s humanoid robotic research. If it keeps ASIMO from toppling over, it’ll keep you upright as well.

You’ve seen something like this back in 2010, when Honda Malaysia presented the UX-3 during the KL International Motorshow. From the UX-3 came the UNI-CUB in May 2012 that allows users easier control and freedom of movement in barrier-free environments. The UNI-CUB β is smaller and lighter than its predecessor.

What’s different is that the β version has a new design and new materials to boost the sense of unity between the user and the mobility device. Meanwhile, a stand function was also introduced to enhance usability, making it easier to get on and off.

If you want to give it a go, head on down to the Technology and Promotion section of ISETAN the Japan Store situated at the ground floor of the Lot 10 Shopping centre in KL as the public can have a chance to try out (limited time only) the UNI-CUB β as there will be a demo and ride-on session from 11am until 9pm from October 27th to November 24th 2016.
