Honda goes door-to-door

Going above the call of duty, Honda Malaysia will now head to the premises of customers to replace airbags

Honda is knocking on owners' doors before you knock on heaven's door with their latest initiative that sees all 84 of their authorised Honda Service dealers nationwide mobilising their associates to go door to door and approach affected customers at their premises from now until 31 December 2016 to assist in making arrangements for the replacement where necessary for customers who are genuinely unable to go to any nearest dealers or temporary hubs.

Honda Malaysia has gone beyond the extra mile to expedite and simplify the replacement of defective Takata front airbags inflators in some of its model with efforts such as Honda Service Central Hubs, Mobile Hubs which are stationed at selected shopping malls and Honda’s on-ground events such as the Honda Family Road Trip. This latest effort is the next phase of the plan and brings them to your doorstep.

Members of the team will be clad in Honda uniforms together with an authorisation letter for to facilitate recognizing the team. Additionally, customers may also contact the Honda Toll Free number at 1-800-88-2020 or authorised Honda Service dealers for further confirmation.

Honda Malaysia strongly urges affected customers to make an appointment at any authorised Honda Service dealers or Honda Service Central Hubs for the replacement exercise. Affected customers may also walk-in to the Honda Service Central Hubs to replace their Takata driver front airbag inflator. The Mobile Hubs and Honda Family Road Trip do not require an appointment.

Thus far, Honda Malaysia has replaced 68 per cent of the affected airbag inflators. Customers are encouraged to urgently replace their affected Takata front airbag inflators as the inflator modules manufactured by Takata may deploy with excessive internal pressure when activated, rupturing the casing and possibly injuries or fatalities to the driver or passenger.

Furthermore, Honda Malaysia is working closely with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to approach current owners of affected Honda models based on JPJ data.
