Honda airbag replacement update

Still haven't replaced your Honda's front airbag unit? Honda has just extended their replacement services till the 31st of December 2016.

If you're one to not enjoy being hit in the face by metal shrapnel, I suggest you get to it and pay Honda a visit to get your airbag replaced. The numbers from Honda say that 23 per cent of affected vehicles have not had the airbag inflator replaced yet. And this figure is for the Central Hub alone.

The Northern and Southern region have it lower both at eight per cent respectively. Honda has kindly provided us with the location, date and time of these hubs hoping that it would aid their customers in making plans.

The extension of replacement services comprises of both the Service Central Hubs and also the Mobile Hubs. Initially started on the 1st of August 2016, these temporary hubs have replaced 11,300 units of the malfunctioning Takata front airbag inflators. Check out the mobile hub times and locations below.

At the moment, only Takata front driver airbag inflator parts are available, but Honda Malaysia has reassured us that parts of the passenger airbag are coming in and will be at 55 per cent capacity by the end of the year. Hopefully no further incidents occur in that time period.

Honda continues to urge all affected vehicle owners to get their cars checked by Honda as soon as possible. Unsurprisingly, Honda is determined to resolve this matter as efficiently as possible and minimising damage to the brand name.
