BMW goes on a tour around Langkawi

BMW is now the official automotive partner of Le Tour de Langkawi 2017

BMW Group Malaysia is proud to announce their brand new partnership with Le Tour de Langkawi Malaysia 2017. This is the first time the automaker is pairing up with the most prestigious cycling stage race in the country and both BMW and the committee of LTdL are looking forward to a great response this year. 


As the automotive partner of the Le Tour de Langkawi Malaysia 2017, BMW will be deploying a full fleet of cars to ferry contestants and authorities around the island. So come February 22nd to March 1st 2017, Langkawi will see a mass of BMWs, Minis and BMW Motorrad vehicles taking over the road as the cycling competition commences. 


BMW will not only be providing a fleet of cars for the competition, the group will also be the sponsors of the White Jersey award. The White Jersey award is awarded to the Best Asian Rider to signify the discovery of local or regional talent and heroes in the sport. This is BMW Group’s effort to identify, develop and support emerging talents in the country.


The winner of the White Jersey award in 2016 is local boy Muhammad Adiq Hussainie Othman. The 26-year-old will be returning to the competition this year to defend his award against professionals from Europe, China, Japan and more. 


Le Tour de Langkawi is now in its 22nd year in Malaysia, the 2017 competition will be kicking off on the 22nd of February and will cover 1200km over eight stages.
