As donations go, Toyota has the most unique item.

Instead of cash or any other facilities, Toyota has donated a brand new Toyota Hilux to Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Sultanah Haminah (YAASH), Alor Setar, Kedah. The Hilux will be used to facilitate the house’s charitable activities and community work with regards to the well-being of the orphans in Kedah.
In attendance at the simple ceremony in Alor Setar is the patron of the foundation, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah, UMW Toyota Motor Deputy Chairman, Mr. Akio Takeyama and UMW Toyota President, Datuk Ismet Suki.
Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Sultanah Haminah (YAASH) was established in 2011 with the aim of taking care of the well-being and welfare of orphans with little proper supervision. These orphans, regardless of their academic achievements and levels, are placed under the care of the foundation’s supervision as they learn to live independently.
The donation was part of the philanthropic pillars in the company’s Corporate Socil Responsibility (CSR), the company hopes that the Hilux would help in assisting orphans in Kedah so they would receive sufficient care and supervision.
