If you were on the way up to Penang recently you would have encountered a convoy of Suzuki Swifts rocking the roads while they make their way North. It must have been a sight indeed considering Swifts comes in a number of colours, bright ones at that. You’re looking at the Suzuki Rock the Road 2014 Escape Penang Customer Event.

21 Swifts of different variants both old and new driven by owners and enthusiasts alike from all over the Klang Valley were flagged off from Suzuki’s latest 3S centre at Regal Motors in Old Klang Road. From there they had a short break at Tapah and later on enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort before heading off to their final destination at Lone Pine Hotel in Batu Ferringhi, Penang.

Along the way, owners get to experience and learn what their Swifts are capable off. They were shown the Swift’s ability to soak up most of the bumps and potholes that the convoy encountered. They were also given a hands-on approach lesson on the Swift’s handling characteristics and superior power-to-weight ratio which provided them with nimble driving performance and better fuel efficiency.

On the second day, Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Bahang saw an invasion of Suzuki cars as, in addition to the 21 car convoy from KL, about 70 more Swifts from Penang arrived for some fun-filled time at the world-class outdoor theme park, Escape Penang.

The Suzuki Rock the Road event was organised to show Suzuki’s gratitude for the strong support that they have received from all Suzuki owners. Thanks to the overwhelming response and with many owners already looking forward to next year’s convoy Suzuki hopes to make this an annual event.
