Proton ramps up production of the Persona

The Proton Persona’s line is back in business and Proton is stepping up their production numbers to meet several demands.

After closing the Persona’s production line in Tanjung Malim for some refurbishment and upgrading work, the line is now back in business and ready to meet the sales demand. Thanks to the temporary halt in production, Proton had to adjust their production schedule of the Persona to meet the growing demands for the well-loved sedan.
The sedan car market has been growing in our country and Proton has noted the significant growth over the years. The group of buyers had started with the traditional family and now includes the young and professionals as well.
"As we see a steady demand in numbers for locally made cars due to the drop in our Ringgit, we're pleased that more and more Malaysians choose Persona as their preferred car due to its spacious size, moderate fuel consumption and low maintenance cost,” continued Dato’ Harith.
Proton launched the Persona in 15 August 2007, since then they have sold 265,882 units as of 31st August 2015. The car has also won a number of awards including Frost and Sullivan’s Best Model of the Year in 2008. Both the Persona Super Value (SV) and Persona Executive are priced at RM44,658.
The waiting period at present is one month. That waiting period and the large demands had prompted the company to make the decision to ramp up production. They hope that they will be able to deliver the Personas in time with the festive seasons leading up to the end of the year.
