Netizens, to those of you who don’t know what the words means netizens refers to the online community that are active in commenting on blogs and social media. Netizens are very powerful with the up-rise of social media, and recently there has been a trend I like to call it “post and shame” where somebody would post up a picture or video of somebody doing wrong or offensive for netizens to “fry” that person.

The most recent case we have is photos that depict a Perodua Alza’s rear-end axle separating from its frame. These photos are accompanied by netizens’ criticism of the quality control at Perodua. To address this issue, Perodua’s President and CEO, Datuk Ainar Rashid Salleh himself has stepped out to address this issue with the following statement:

Clarification by Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh, on the damaged Alza on social media

It has come to our attention that several photographs are being circulated on various social mediums that depict a Perodua Alza’s rear-end axle separated from its frame.

We wish to clarify that the damage shown in said picture was caused by a collision between the Perodua Alza with another vehicle.

In some postings, netizens have claimed that the vehicle was faulty due to poor quality control.

We would like to reiterate that Perodua do not compromise on quality and quality control whether during production, sales and even our after sales services.

This commitment to quality is a core component in each of our 4 transformation pillars, which are; the production transformation; product transformation; R&D and procurement transformation; and customer satisfaction transformation.

While we would like to thank all our customers for their support; Perodua will take whatever necessary action to protect its name and image from any form of slander and/or libel.
