The Red Peak challenge is Mitsubishi’s bespoke roadshow aimed at showcasing the company’s formidable All-Wheel Drive (AWD) technology as found in the Mitsibishi ASX, Pajero Sport and Triton models. But other roadshows mostly feature polished cars parked in shiny concourse areas of shopping malls. Mitsubishi on the other hand take this concept to another level.

While they may be units that are parked, there are also Tritons that will scale a 45-degree ramp up 25-feet facing skywards, while another Pajero drives up a steep ascent through the bespoke fabricated Red Peak truck out the other end. And at the rear, another obstacle threatens to throw an ASX on its sides in the side traverse and uneven ramp challenges. So you may agree this is not your average sales driven show-and-tell exercise.

Now visiting 11 locations across Sabah and Sarawak, the Red Peak Challenge intends to wow and amaze our neighbours from the east. The Red Peak challenge will visit major Eastern cities starting in Kota Kinabalu on the 14th Nov 2014 until the 15th March 2015 ending in the city of Labuan.

Lucky visitors also had chance to meet two-time Dakar rally champion Hiroshi Masuoka during the campaign’s debut weekend on the 15th November 2014. The 20-year veteran of Dakar has also been recently plying his trait in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb competitions for the past three years culminating in a second-place finish this year behind the wheel of his all-electric MiEV Evolution III 4WD monster.
