Join the club with the Mini Clubman

Mini welcomes you to join the club with the Mini Clubman!

Coming to you in two variants, Mini Malaysia wants you to get to know their brand new Mini Clubman. Measuring at a length of 4,253mm, a width of 1,800mm and a height of 1,441mm, and a wheelbase that measures 2,670mm, the Clubman is the car you get when you need the space but is still young at heart!

The Mini Clubman still shares the same face as all the Minis already in the company’s range, but you get six doors instead of the usual three or five and a wider. There are new Air Curtains which channel air around the wheels and into Air Breathers behind the front wheel arches, a first in a Mini, to help reduce drag and create a smoother, more efficient ride.

Unique split rear doors that gives access to the Clubman’s 1250-litre boot has a central bar positioned between the glass sections of the two side-opening doors, the doors are visibly narrower than its predecessor’s to give drivers the best rear view. The rear of the Clubman is also decorated with newly designed horizontal rear lights.

What will tickle the fancy of most owners is the projection of the Mini logo onto the ground from a light source housed in the exterior mirror on the driver’s side. This tiny feature will make it seem as though the Clubman is greeting you as you leave every time the car is locked or unlocked.

The Mini Cooper Clubman variant comes shod with 17-inch Net Spoke Silver light alloy wheels while the more expensive Mini Cooper S Clubman comes with 18-inch Star Spoke Black light alloy wheels. Both variants are equipped with run-flat tyres.

It’s all about space when it comes to the new Mini Clubman’s interior. You get five conveniently accessible seats and massive amount of legroom along with a versatile luggage compartment. Everything inside is finished in high-quality materials including the wide instrument panel with cockpit facia frame. This design is integrated into the door trim panels and centre console as well.

The seats are offered in Cloth Firework Carbon Black upholstery with Hazy Grey interior surfacing for the Cooper variant while the Cooper S’ seats comes in Piano Black interior surfacing with Leather Cross Punch in Pure Burgundy.

You get a sports leather steering wheel in the Mini Cooper Clubman variant but upgrade to the Cooper S variant and you will get a John Cooper Works leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.
Mini Connected drives the infotainment, communication and driving experience, the passengers especially will get to be serenaded by over 20 million songs with the easy connection to Spotify. All driving action can be captured by controlling the GoPro cameras directly from the car’s cockpit. One of the coolest features on the car, however, is the foot-activated sensor to open the split rear doors without having to press any button, all you need to do is wave your foot near the sensor and the doors will open.

Power comes from either a three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines with Mini TwinPower Turbo technology. The base Mini Cooper Clubman utilises the three-cylinder engine which dispenses a peak output of 136bhp and a max torque of 220Nm. The Mini Cooper Clubman accelerates from zero to 100kph in 9.1 seconds and will hit a top speed of 205kph. Yet, the Clubman still has a record 5.4-litres per 100km.

The 2-litre four-cylinder on the other hand powers the Mini Cooper S Clubman. It records a peak output of 192bhp and a max torque of 280Nm allowing the Cooper S Clubman to make that century sprint in 7.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 228kph. These figures are combined with an average fuel consumption of 5.9-litres per 100km.

The 2-litre engine is also coupled with an eight-speed Steptronic Transmission, a Mini premiere, that will give the Cooper S Clubman even more favourable basis for efficient, comfortable and sporty driving.

You get the usual array of safety features like ABS with EBD, Cornering Brake Control and Brake Assistance, but is further supported by Dynamic Stability Control, a brake dry function, Fading Brake Support and Dynamic Traction Control which helps when driving on wet and slippery surfaces.

Pick from eight colour options; Pepper White, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, Deep Blue, British Racing Green, and Thunder Grey along with two brand new colours Melting Silver and Pure Burgundy.

The Mini Cooper Clubman retails at RM203,888.00 while the Mini Cooper S Clubman goes at RM253,888.00, both prices quoted are on the road without insurance. All Mini Clubmans comes standard with the new Mini four-years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service.
