The ultimate luxury van from Mercedes-Benz

If there ever was a vehicle to survive doomsday in luxury, it is the Mercedes-Benz V-Class

Put the C, E and S-Class aside for a moment and get yourself acquainted with the V-Class! The sedans and compact sedans from the company can take a back seat for now as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduces the upgrade for their youngest and also largest passenger car ever to our country.

There is no mistaking the V-Class, even though it has proportions that are not usual of a Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicle, the V-Class has the upright radiator grille with three-dimensional central star and the progressively designed headlamps to identify it as part of the three point star family. With a combination of concave and convex surfaces, sensuous comes to mind when it comes to the V-Class’s character.
Inside, the use of high quality material provides the Mercedes-Benz hallmark “welcome home” feel. The seats, steering wheel and shift lever are wrapped in nappa leather while ambient lighting can be swapped according to the driver’s mood. The most unique feature in the V-Class is the dynamically styled two-part dashboard separated by a large, three-dimensional trim element creating an impression of width and underscores the high-class appeal.

There is also a free-standing central display that dominates the dashboard while the steering wheel features 12 buttons and DIRECT SELECT lever with shift paddles. There is also an innovative touchpad which allows all telematics functions to operate the Audio 20CD or COMAND Online.
Speaking of COMAND Online, the V-Class comes with the latest generation system that combines all audio, telephone and navigation functions and internet browser along with transmission of real time traffic data. Owners can also control their V-Classes via LINGUATRONIC voice control. Burmester surround sound system comes as an option in the V-Class drowning the occupants in exceptional sound quality from the 16 high-performance loudspeakers.

THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control system ensures that every passenger stays comfortable throughout the vehicle with three climate modes to pick from FOCUS, MEDIUM and DIFFUSE.
The V-Class is also incredibly flexible allowing numerous seating configurations. The standard four individual luxury seats complete with armrests can now be folded forward to afford easy access to the rear, while a folding table could be installed according to the owner’s desires. The bench seat in the rear can be configured to fit just two passengers or three passengers.
Under the bonnet is a state-of-the-art 2.1-litre four-cyliner turbodiesel engine with two-stage turbocharging. The V 220 d generates 163bhp at 3800rpm and 380Nm at 1400-2400rpm. Link that turbodiesel engine to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission with DIRECT SELECT lever and shift paddles, the V-Class powers itself from 0-100kph in 10.8 seconds and a top speed of 195kph, not bad for a vehicle weighing in at 2075kg. The van also burns 5.7l/100km and emits 149g/km.

There are a total of 11 driver assistance systems installed in the V-Class. Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive’s radar, camera and ultrasound sensors in the E-Class and S-Class can be found in the V-Class. You get the standard equipment like ATTENTION ASSIST and Crosswind Assist to stabilise the car. Optional equipment includes a 360 degree camera, DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control and COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST and more.
Mercedes-Benz is offering the V-Class for order at all authorised Mercedes-Benz dealers at a price of RM434,888 on the road without insurance including GST.
