Mercedes’ Christmas In A Shoebox event was celebrated with 74 children aged three to 19 years from Pusat Jagaan Kebajikan Anbu Illam, Pusat Jagaan Angels, Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) and Gurpuri Foundation.

This year the event was held at The School in Jaya One where the children were separated into groups according to their ages to engage in activities meant to inspire creativity. Mercedes encouraged the youngsters to learn in activities like storytelling, Lego construction and music lessons at the respective corners.

The children also enjoyed a rather New York style lunch, where pasta and freshly squeezed juice was served from a food truck. The activities continued after lunch where there was a chance to paint their faces and a final activity, where all children joined their teachers for a vocal performance at the Academy of Rock.

To end the day, children left the event with backpacks filled with goodies and good memories of their day with Mercedes. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s Christmas In A Shoebox programme is currently in its sixth year and has reached over 200 children from over 20 homes throughout the years.
