The most phenomenal AMG is now in Malaysia

If it is a zippy and sharp AMG you're looking for, then good news, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is bringing in the brand new C63 AMG!

Behold the most powerful C-Class you can ever get! Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is finally bringing us the amazing wonders of the C63 AMG with the introduction of this magnificent specimen. Two variants are available at launch, the C63 and C63 S are both powered by the most powerful V8 engine in its segment and boasting an unrivalled low fuel consumption making it the most powerful and most economical eight-cylinder car in the high performance segment.
There is no mistaking the C63 S from the standard C-Class, the design was influenced by motorsports with a focus of essential aerodynamic and cooling requirements in the design idiom. The C63 has aluminium wings flared by 14mm on each side while the front section is extended by 54mm while certain areas have been reinforced in certain areas to transfer and compensate the forces the powertrain and suspension produces.
Inside, a multifunction display dominates the ARTICO leather covered dash console while an AMG-specific analogue clock in IWC design accentuates the high-quality impression. Being an  AMG car, the centre console is decorated by numerous AMG-specific controls such as the three-stage Ride Control Sports suspension, the manual transmission mode, three-stage ESP or the Performance exhaust system with flap control.
Mercedes is proud to say that the V8 biturbo under the bonnet is closely related to the M178 engine that powers the Mercedes-AMG GT. The phenomenal powerplant produces 510bhp at 5500rpm onwards and 700Nm at 1750-4500rpm, powering the car from 0-100kph in four seconds! While powerful, Mercedes has electronically limited the top speed to 250kph, imagine the top speed the C63 can achieve without the limit!
Even with those impressive numbers, the C63 still has an impressive efficiency number at 8.2-litre per 100km. With that number, the C63 is the most economical eight-sylinder car in the high-performance segment and sets a new benchmark for its competitors.

Here's all you need to know about the C63:
  • A sports exhaust system with a special exhaust flap is installed on the C63 and depending on the AMG Dynamic Select transmission mode, the engine note varies between subdued to throaty.
  • Like the AMG GT, the C63 comes with dynamic engine mounts that help makes handling and agility from the adaptive rigidity of the suspensions.
  • Engineers at Affalterbach have thoroughly revised the AMG Speedshift MCT 7-Speed sports transmission to give the gearbox more direct responses to commands. The sports transmission comes with a wide variety of transmission modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. Race is only available for the C63 S.
  • The C63 has a Race Start function to offer the best possible acceleration from rest.
  • Mercedes has made sure to install high-performance ceramic composite braking system exclusively for the C63 S. The C63 comes with 360mm disc brakes that offer excellent deceleration and fade-resistance while the C63 S comes with 390mm disc brakes instead.
  • Owners of the C63 S also get optional sports tyres in 245/ 35 R 19 for the front and 265/ 35 R 19 for the rear.
  • Like all AMGs, the C63 S also has a special Edition 1 model that comes with wider 19-inch forged wheels in a cross-spoke design, side sports stripes in matt graphite grey, red design seat belts and a steering wheel covered in Dinamica microfiber.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 retails at RM698,888 on-the-road without insurance and inclusive GST but if you opt for the special Edition 1, be prepared to pay a price tag of RM723,888.
