Get ready for the F1 Carnival

A new era was introduced in 2014 in Formula 1, SIC jumps into the new era with the new theme for the 2015 season as well. Behold the start of the 2015 Malaysian GP. By Jerrica Leong

What has Sepang International Circuit planned for this year’s Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix? The entire programme was launched last week with themed “Experience F1 Like Never Before”. It has been 17 years since Malaysia started hosting Formula 1 race and SIC is hoping to change the F1 experience for all their fans for the 2015 season.

This year, it’s all about bringing the family to the race weekend. SIC took the opportunity the quieter F1 turbo hybrid engines offer to further promote the family concept. They have plans to transform the grounds surrounding the circuit into a carnival-like atmosphere. Children will have a corner to themselves while tweens will get to enjoy a role play pit mock up, water obstacles and cool zone in an area of their own. Adults will not miss out on the fun with activities such as karting and drifting at the X-track to enjoy.

The race weekend will not just feature the Formula 1 race, local motorsports fanatics will also be able to enjoy two support races- Round 1 of the Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) and the Malaysia leg of the TCR International Series (happening on the last day of the race).

For the after-race concert, SIC has also brought in iconic rock musician Lenny Kravitz to headline the concert and, good news to all, race goers are able to enjoy the after-race concert with no extra charge.

This year, SIC’s exclusive Malaysia Grand Prix Gala 2015 will have The Jacksons as its main act. This time those that will not be joining the after race concert will still be able to catch the singers live at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 26 March 2015.

Meanwhile, all promotions are now in full swing, the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team car will be accompanying the roadshows that will visit at least 20 key venues around the country. The roadshows will bring F1 fans awesome ticket prices and a chance to win exciting prizes as well.
