In the market for a C-segment saloon below the RM90k mark? There was one: Proton Inspira, not anymore though. Introducing the Kia Cerato KX, Kia’s all new contender for the local C-segment, which starts out a modest RM89,888 on the road.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre Gamma D-CVVT engine capable of producing 128bhp at 6,000rpm while 157Nm of torque becomes available at 4,850rpm. The engine is tacked to a six speed auto which drives the front wheels.

The bargain price comes courtesy of some deleted interior and exterior accessories. On the outside, the Cerato loses the chromed window lining and the lovely rear LED tail lamps which have now been replaced by more conventional bulb items. The futuristic styling still remains, with KIA’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ leading up to sleek headlamps up front, an athletic coupe-like side silhouette and neatly tailored rear proportions.

Buyers still get Kia’s Smart Welcoming Light system which light up the puddle-lights under the wing mirrors and the door handles. Keyless entry, push start, and cruise control still come equipped, as does an 8” touchscreen multimedia system replete with satellite navigation and Bluetooth steering control.

Safety equipment of the Cerato KX now includes two airbags, ABS, EBD and ISOFIX anchors for child seats. The Cerato KX comes with a five year unlimited mileage warranty and order books are now open.
