ESC and ABS or brand new tyres are not enough, Bridgestone thinks that driving is contributes to safety. So here goes the safety driving lesson!

Bridgestone is playing their role as the responsible world-leading tyre manufacturer with the introduction of their Potenza Driving Lesson. The lessons are designed with a concept aimed at raising awareness of safe and proper sports driving techniques to their customers.

Back in its eighth year in Malaysia, this year’s Potenza Driving Lesson was conducted at MAEPS Serdang, Malaysia. 30 motoring enthusiasts showed up to attend the lesson, the participants were previously chosen via a lucky draw that was part of the Potenza Adrenalin RE003 launch promotion conducted from 1st May to 31st July 2015.
The lessons were conducted by a team of highly experienced professional drivers headed by the “Prince of Drift” Tengku Djan Ley while the cars wore Potenza Adrenalin RE003, the most suitable tyres for street sports driving while enjoying safe and proper sports driving.

Participants were taught safe driving techniques and the skills required in handling a vehicle during adverse situations. The lessons even include proper steering and seating, emergency braking and cornering and culminated in a timed autocross course, as the slalom course is the perfect platform to allow drivers to experience smooth steering wheel control, threshold braking to experience the vehicle’s stable deceleration behaviour and more.
“The Potenza Driving Lesson was first introduced in Japan in 1985. Through this lesson, we are hoping it will help you to assess and review your driving behaviour, and subsequently you will bring home with you the theory and hands-on practical lessons that you learnt today and apply the correct driving techniques into your day-to-day driving,”shared Bridgestone Tyres Sales (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.’s Managing Director, Mr. Jo Takekawa. “In line with our corporate mission of Serving Society with Superior Quality, Bridgestone aspires to offer the best products and services to our customers and to society, while improving the safety and lives of our local communities.”

A certificate of completion was given out to all participants, while prizes were given to the winners of the Time Attack competition by Jo Takekawa and instructors Tengku Djan Ley and Ahmad Razman.
