BMW Group Malaysia recently handed over the keys to a fleet of BMW 5 Series, BMW X3 and BMW X1 in support of the upcoming CIMB Classic 2014. This will be the BMW’s fifth successive year in continuing to be the premium partner of the equally premium event.
Present at the hand-over ceremony, Mr. Alan Harris, Managing Director, BMW Group Malaysia said, “BMW has had a long history and commitment of being involved in the sport of Golf. The sport serves as one of three main sporting initiatives that we are committed to worldwide which also includes motorsports and sailing. Our commitment in the sport of Golf is at every level, from the premium amateur level events in the likes of our BMW Golf Cup International program which is the largest and most prestigious amateur golf competition in the world to competitions like the CIMB Classic, the first PGA TOUR-sanctioned event in South East Asia and the only official FedExCup event in South East Asia.”
Besides providing the vehicles to shuttle the players, officials and VIPs, BMW Group Malaysia will also be sponsoring a new BMW X5 xDrive 30d as the Hole-In-One prize.
World No. 3 Sergio Garcia, FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, Asia’s leading golfers Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Ishikawa and 2014 Malaysian Open Champion Lee Westwood will join defending champion Ryan Moore to compete for the US$7million prize, Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), Ryder Cup points and official FedExCup points. So there is plenty to play for.
The CIMB Classic 2014 will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) from 30 October to 2 November 2014.
