Get to know the BMW 118i

Hot of the launch of the refreshed BMW 3 Series, BMW brings out their smaller and spunkier 1 Series.

Within two weeks, BMW Group Malaysia launched two different series, first the refreshed BMW 3 Series and now the BMW 1 Series. The 118i will join the BMW 120i that was launched in June.
  • Just like the 120i, the 118i shares the same proportions, lines and surface design of the hallmark BMW design. But the front sports a new lower apron with larger air intakes and a horizontal bar combines with reshaped BMW kidney grilles and front ornamental grille.
  • The kidney grilles have bars finished in high gloss black to give it a sportier look while full LED headlamps with low and main beam finishes off the front look.
  • BMW has also added their new “L” shaped tail lamps to the 118i. The tail lamps are paired with a reshaped rear bumper with design elements in black-high and a single round exhaust tailpipe in chrome matte finish to further accentuate the sporty expression.

  • The 118i Sport wears 17-inch light alloy wheels Star Spoke.
  • Inside, the new 6.5-inch Control Display dominates the interior while the controllers below the Control Display have all received detailed refinements for better ease of use.
  • Like the 318i, the 118i also has the award winning BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum output of 136bhp and 220Nm of torque allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100kph in 8.7 seconds.

  • Being the same powerplant as the i8, the 118i also features the eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and Driving Experience Control modes with ECO PRO giving the car economy numbers like 5.1-litres per 100km and CO2 emissions of 119g/km.
  • The previously introduced BMW ConnectedDrive is also present in the 118i. Like the 3 Series, the 118i can also be fitted with a Sim card along with the Intelligent Emergency Call feature that automatically communicates with the Call Centre in the event the airbags are triggered.
  • There is also the Remote Services function that turns the smartphone into an intelligent and convenient remote control for the vehicle.

Pick from a choice of Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey, Crimson Red, Midnight Blue and Alpine White. The BMW 118i is yours for RM188,800 on the road without insurance with BMW’s latest five years unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled service program.
