Aston Martin makes a comeback

One of the oldest brands in motoring industry will soon make a comeback to Malaysia.

Well not yet, but in conjunction with the premiere of the latest Bond movie, Aston Martin had jumped at the chance to announce that they will be making a comeback to our country. It’s been a while since we heard from the brand and they did the announcement in style as well with an ultra-rare Aston Martin V12 Zagato as the welcome usher.

Aston Martin will be coming back to Malaysia with the luxury car retailer Wearnes as its Kuala Lumpure dealer in the key Southeast Asian market of Malaysia. This will see Wearnes taking on all sales, aftersales, marketing and brand-building responsibilities for Aston Martin in our country.

In the neighbouring country of Singapore, the partnership just saw the opening of a new Aston Martin facility over the weekend. The companies hope to see a repeat soon to market the current range of Aston Martin model in our country. The line-up currently comprises of the V8 Vantage, the V12 Vantage S, DB9, their four-door sports car Rapide S along with the Vanquish.
Aston Martin Asia Pacific Regional Director, Mr. Patrik Nilsson said, “Aston Martin is an iconic marque of unrivalled heritage, and we are pleased to have Wearnes on board with us in Malaysia. Both companies were both established over a century ago, and Wearnes’ expertise in the luxury sector in Southeast Asia will play a key role in the brand’s development in Malaysia.”

Mr. Gabor A. Csurgai, Regional Managing Director of Wearnes said, “Wearnes is extremely honoured to have this opportunity to work with such an iconic British luxury brand in Malaysia. With over a hundred years of experience in the automotive industry, Wearnes is committed to unparalleled standards of excellence, and this announcement marks a new beginning for existing and potential Aston Martin customers in Malaysia.

We see this very much as a long term investment and our aim is to strengthen the Aston Martin brand presence in this key market.”

The ceremony ended with a special preview of James Bond, Spectre film at the Pavilion GSC cinema.
