A VW train goes hunting for durians

It’s durian season! Beetle Club Malaysia organised a special trip just to go hunting for them

A bright sunny morning saw the gathering of 150 Beetle club members and VW enthusiasts at the Volkswagen Selayang 3S Centre, all raring to go hunting for durians along the lovely B-roads along Bentong, Pahang.

The destination was Sang Lee Durian Wholesale and to get there the convoy will have to drive through the hustle and bustle of the Karak-Bentong highway. So it is expected that many a head was turn and many phones were whipped out to snap a picture of the colourful convoy driving pass. After all, it’s not everyday that we get to see a colourful convoy of VW cars on the road!

But durians were not the only entertainment that was waiting at the end of the convoy, Beetle Club Malaysia also organised a special lucky draw with prizes courtesy of King of Rims and WrapStyle. Durians and lucky draw prizes aside, what the convoy members enjoyed most was the opportunity to swap driving stories, snap a million photos and make new friends.

With the overwhelming response, Beetle Club Malaysia is already looking into organising more fun filled activities after the VW Durian Family Convoy 2016. We hear that ATV riding, go-kart racing, white water rafting and a tour across the nation is on the agenda. The penultimate event will be the Annual Dinner 2016.

The organisers would like to thank joint car clubs VWOCM (VW Owners Club Malaysia); VWKC (VW Klang Crows), VW PACCOM (VW Passat and CC Owners Malaysia), VW Jetta Club Malaysia, Scirocco Club Malaysia, Club Scirocco Malaysia Hybrid and VW MK7 Club Malaysia.

Special thanks to Volkswagen Malaysia, E Smart Print & Gifts, King of Rims, WrapStyle, IGL Coatings, Eagle Eyes, Volkswagen Selayang – GB Auto, PEKTHONG, Arkitek Ooi, Profina, Clay, Apple Green, Tiger Mike, & Top Gear Malaysia for their sponsorship that made the event a lively one!

By the way, Beetle Club Malaysia is also making it official as members who join the club officially will now get to enjoy new privileges from their selected merchants. The club is also in the process of making a new privilege card for other car models as well.
